About us

Sever & Sever film production company was established in 2011 by producer, screenwriter and director Jani Sever and producer Nina Jeglič. The production house initially formed out of video production work for the multimedia portal Vest.si which included video-based news, interviews and reports.

From 2011 we have mainly produced documentaries exploring various local social and cultural themes, but also fiction films. We produce feature-length films and short films, TV series and other video works. Our creative team has made 13 feature films, 6 short films and a TV series.

Our works have been screened at many film festivals and received notable awards. Most often our works are screened at the Festival of Slovenian Film. We have participated at the Kino Otok Festival, Kamfest, the Trieste Film Festival, the ZagrebDox festival, the Cannes Short Film Corner, Athens International Short Film Festival, International Short & Animation Film Festival Open Cinema St. Petersburg, LET’S CEE Film Festival Vienna, Oulu International Film festival and others.

In addition to founding members executive producer Nina Jeglič and producer & director Jani Sever, we have worked with directors Blaž Završnik, Urša Menart, Urška Djukić, Maja Prettner, Miha Možina, Nina Blažin, director & dramatist Marko Bratuš, directors of photography Darko Herič & Lev Predan Kowarski, cameramen & editors Nina Bučuk, Domen Ožbot & Maja Andlovic, editors Andrej Nagode & Andrej Avanzo, composers Davor Herceg & Laren Polič Zdravič, composer & sound enginer Simon Penšek, sound enginer Boštjan Kačičnik, grpahic artists Mojca Mladenović, Darko Miladinovič & Hana Jesih, color enginer Teo Rižnar with Nu Frame, color enginer & 2D/3D animator Luka Tišler, with posproduction team RESTART, including Janez Ferlan & Bojan Mastilović.

Jani Sever is a former journalist and editor-in-chief of the leading Slovene political weekly Mladina. In 2006 he founded multimedia portal Vest where he worked as editor-in-chief and producer. In 2011 he co-founded the production company Sever & Sever where he works as producer, director and screenwriter.

Nina Jeglič has worked as marketing project manager for OpenAd ltd - communications from 2004-2006. In 2006 she co-founded the multimedia portal Vest with Jani Sever, where she was general manager and producer. From 2011 she works as producer and project manager at Sever & Sever production.

Our beginnings

In 2010 we produced a 30 episode short format web series The Overwritten (Prepisani) in cooperation with the team at vest.si including artists like Jure Godler, Sebastian Cavazza, Jonas Žnidaršič, Katarina Čas, Nina Rakovec, Marko Derganc, Jože Robežnik, Lado Bizovičar and others. The series was written by Jonas Žnidaršič. Director Klemen Dvornik received the Viktor award for direction. Then in 2011 we made a documentary about the political activist Elena Pečarič and her presidential campaign, and a documentary exploring the rap scene in Slovenija called Veš poet svoj dolg?
